Smart Signage display vs a consumer TV
People tend to think that there is not a big difference between a smart signage display and a consumer line TV. But that's not the case, there's definitely a difference! Not only is there a price difference, but also a massive performance and functionality difference. Curious what these differences are? Continue reading this blog.
1. 24/7
The consumer line TV's are not built to be on for 24 hours. Even though there are families which leave their TV on for the entire day, but in normal situations the TV won't be on for longer than 15 hours. The signage displays are built to up and running for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without getting overheated. Since the signage displays won't be affected by being turned on this long, they won't break as quick as a TV and will last longer.
2. Display performance
The display of a TV is good enough for Netflix and the news, but a TV will eventually get dated. The picture might start vibrating and colors might start to fade. This will not happen with the signage display. These signage displays are made to last at least 50.000 hours. Thanks to the use of LCD and LED displays, which also makes them a lot more sustainable. Not only that, the digital signage displays are stock featured with a player. This means you do not have to get an extra player which you have to connect to your device any longer.
3. Sunlight on your display
Is the sun bothering you by shining on your TV? Unfortunately, the TV's are hard to read when the sun is beaming right at it. Believe it or not, but the signage displays are not affected by the sunlight. The content will always be perfectly visible, which is great for when the display gets placed in a shop window or in a store with bright lights. The signage display is created to transfer the message, despite the conditions.
4. Internet connection
It's more common these days that smart TV's are connected to the internet. But the primary goal is to showcase programs via a cable, satellite or digitally. So sometimes the signal might be a bit wobbly. The signage displays are always connected to the internet, this can either be done by WiFi or cable. The good thing about this is that you can change content remotely, you won't need any cables or any other products.
5. Hide your cables
Speaking of cables. TV's are not fully wireless yet. There still are quite some cables behind the TV's which have to be hidden. The signage displays are close to wireless, all they need is power and that's it. The cables of the signage displays can very neatly be hidden so that they won't be noticed.
