In a market where displays are becoming more common, it's important to stand out. This goes for the displays as for the (most of the time larger) LED walls. The content has to be dynamic, vivid, high-quality and compelling, it would be a shame if your digital investments wouldn't pay off as much as they should. That's why we would like to highlight some points that can be taken into account.
What is resolution?
To answer the question, it's important to start with understanding all aspects. The resolution of a device is a measurement of how many pixels are packed into a given display area. Resolution is typically denoted in a width x height format. Some common resolutions are:
Full HD = 1920 pixels x 1080 pixels
4K = 3840 pixels x 2160 pixels
8K = 7680 pixels x 4320 pixels
The pixels are the building blocks of digital images, all pixels combined from images like brick form a wall. The higher the number of pixels in a given space, the higher the fidelity those images can be.
What resolution do you need for LED walls?
For Samsung LED walls the content has to be created in a more special way. The resolution depends on the cabinet formation, which differs in every situation. All content for the Samsung LED walls has to be created on a 4k canvas with the content fitting the pixel dimension. For example, the canvas is in 4k and the pixels are 500x500. This will mean you will get a 3840x2160 canvas with 500x500 content on top of it. In order to get a better understanding of how to create content for your LED wall, you can check this video:
What resolution do you need for digital signage displays?
First, it's good to check the output of your device, this means that your device can have a full HD or a 4K output. As you can see in the pixel dimensions mentioned above, there is quite a difference in pixels. 4K content is double the size of full HD content. You can work with up to 4k content in MagicINFO as well, please note that when you work with 4K content in the WebAuthor, that it gets downgraded to full HD content. This is because the WebAuthor has yet to support and export 4K content.
In order to get the 4K content working on your digital signage displays, you can upload the 4K content to MagicINFO, put it in a playlist and schedule it to your displays. There are still ways of working with the 4K files, just not in the WebAuthor.
