'Want to really take automation to the next level? MagicINFO has rules-based conditional content triggering capabilities. A great way to be smart with content automation and relevant at the same time. Based on certain 'rules', you can publish content based on 'a set of variables'.

For example, temperature + time + inventory level =  promotion X. By data-tagging content and players, integrated with real-time data from other systems within a business, you can deliver content that is relevant to that moment. And, most importantly, you can just monitor and think about new strategic ways to get your message across while the system is set up to do all the smart work.

In this blog we give you 6 ideas on how you can use RuleSet:

1. Show promotion based on whether the type

When you integrate the weather conditions into your signage system, you can choose specific criteria to show specific content. Like showing a hot drink when it's warm and a warm cup of tea when it's cold. You have to create your content items and based on the rules the item is published. This condition only works in combination with DataLink.

2. Change menu pricing and show promotions based on stock levels

Digital menu boards are a really good way to increase sales. By combining all systems, data, and content, you can change pricing and promotions based on stock levels. A strong and powerful strategy to sell more and offer just what the customer can get, and wants.

3. Publish advertisement based on country and language

RuleSet offers the option to have tags as a 'rule'. With this option, you really benefit from all out-of-the-box features like tags and RuleSet. Based on certain tags, like for example a country, you can build your playlist completely relevant and appeal to each country's culture.

4. Product type or theme, time and place

Another example of how you can use a ruleset is to publish specific product groups based on for instance device locations and time. It's sort of the same as creating playlists based on tags, but here you can just add a little bit more smarts to the mix.

5. Content per display orientation

It's inevitable that your content for the landscape and portrait devices has a different layout. Having separate content for both orientations is a must and you can determine to multiple ways. You can create a playlist per device, use tags or make use of the RuleSet. With the RuleSet, you can send the content to all devices that are in either landscape or portrait orientation.

6. Content per display size

Let's say you wish to have content for devices under 50" and different content for bigger displays greater than 50". You can now split this by using the RuleSet. Here you can select what content you wish to send out to which display size. All this is now possible within the RuleSet manager, it's also possible to mix it up with device name, device model name, IP address, media tag and much more!

Question yourself:

  • What do we want to achieve?
  • What data is available?

The technique is already there, it's up to you to be creative (and to contact us ;-))!
